Oba of Lagos, Alhaji Rilwanu Akiolu, yesterday in Sokoto urged students to shun cultism and other criminal acts.
Speaking in Sokoto at the commissioning of three projects aimed at boosting education and science related courses of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, UDUTHS, the Oba said unless students do away with illicit tendencies it would be difficult for them to emerge as true leaders of tomorrow.
The former Assistant Commissioner of Police described one of the projects, an art theatre as a monument hall where talents would be developed for generations.
While appealing to them to channel their grievances to the authorities whenever they had course to make any demand, he urged them to do so with decorum and sense of responsibility.
“Don’t involved yourself in anything criminality or cultism”, the Oba of Logos charged student and added; “You should do the right thing, because this new edifice is meant to assist you in your studies.”
Earlier, the vice chancellor of the university, Prof. Abdullahi Zuru, said without the structure NUC would never accredit art courses run by the institution.
