Pan-Igbo group known as South East Revival Group, SERG, has expressed satisfaction with the giant strides so far recorded by the Anambra State governor, Chief Willie Obiano, saying that the present administration could create a mini-Dubai in the state within next four years.
In a statement signed by its national coordinator, Chief Willy Ezugwu, and made available to Nigerian Pilot in Abuja yesterday, the group disclosed that they had followed the activities of the governor in the last two years and found out that he was really doing good work in the state.
“When you visit Anambra State in just two years of the Chief Willie Obiano administration, you will be greeted by several commissioned and on-going gigantic projects, ranging from the Anambra State House of Assembly complex to roads into the hinterlands, flyover bridges and many more.
“Don’t forget that most governors are crying of dwindling monthly allocations from the federation account and as a result went to Abuja for bailout funds, yet you can see the neatness of Upper Iweka, the serene environment for profitable business activities.
“Today, there is relative security in Anambra with night life restored, such that you can now go about with your handbag without fear of it being snatched in Onitsha, because of Chief Willie Obiano’s zero tolerance for criminals,” the statement said.
It further noted that Chief Obiano’s achievements in the area of security of lives and property “followed painstaking efforts to support security agencies in the state, having donated equipment to them, including vehicles, gunboats, speedboats, and water ambulances to facilitate movements across the water channels and ensure better life in riverine communities and link them with their kit and kin in the mainland.”
The group therefore called on all well meaning Anambrarians to support his achievements which had recently earned him The Sun Newspapers’ Prestigious Governor of the Year award.
