The Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced inoculation and medical screening for all intending pilgrims for the 2015 hajj.
A statement by the Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Sefiu Rasheed, said the exercise was meant to ensure that all intending pilgrims are healthy.
The statement added that information gathered during the exercise would guide the board in offering necessary medical attention to the pilgrims in Saudi Arabia.
The medical screening will hold at the board’s headquarters, Block B, New Secretariat, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, beginning from 9am each day, weekend exclusive.
The statement noted that only pilgrims, who have updated their initial deposits of hajj fares to the tune of N800, 000 were expected to come along with their original payment receipts and visit the board’s information department to ascertain when they would be attended to during the five-day exercise:
The secretary enjoined all intending pilgrims to strictly participate in this exercise which, according to him, is an essential aspect of hajj operations.
