Former Governors Olusegun Osoba and Otunba Gbenga Daniel yesterday shunned Governor Ibikunle Amosun’s special State Executive Council meeting to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the State.
The State Governor, it was gathered has extended invitations to all former Governors and sole administrators of the state for the special SEC meeting but the two former Governors were conspicuously absent at the meeting.
Former Governor Raji Rasaki was also absent at the meeting presided over by Amosun at the exco chambers in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, the state capital.
Both Amosun and Osoba was however sighted in Awujale’s palace in Ijebu-Ode where the monarch, Dr Sikiru Adetona was to host President Muhammadu Buhari as part of the celebrations.
Those in attendance included Lt. Colonel Siedu Adeolu Balogun (rtd.); Colonel Oladipo Diya (rtd.); Lt.Colonel Oladayo Popoola, (rtd.); Navy Captain Oladehinde Joseph, (rtd.); Lt.Col. Daniel Akintonde, (rtd.); Group Captain Sam Ewang, (rtd.); and Navy Captain Kayode Olofinmoyin, (rtd.)
Also in attendance were the Minister of Finance; Kemi Adeosun who is the former Commissioner for Finance in the state; Senators representing Ogun Central and Ogun West at the Senate, Senators Lanre Tejuoso and Gbolahan Dada; members of the state executive council, amongst others.
