South Senatorial re-run election,
Comrade Daniel Onjeh has accused
Sen. David Mark of playing on the intelligence of Idoma people,
describing him as a ‘redundant’
Comrade Onjeh, who spoke at the
weekend in Otukpo during a rally
organised by the party to mark his return after emerging victorious
at the appeal court recently, said
Sen. Mark has continuously
underdeveloped Idoma land
through deceit.
According to hm, “Mark cannot continually hold Idoma nation
captive. He has taken the people
for granted and insulted our
sensibility. There is no federal
government presence in Idoma
land. All the promises he made including the creation of Apa State
creation have not come to fruition.”
He described Mark as a
redundant senator who should
have left the scene when the
ovation was loudest, boasting that
he will defeat Mark and liberate
Idoma nation from the shackles of
“Mark is heading for colossal
defeat. I am well positioned for
this seat. I will be part of the critical
mass, who will speak and bring
development to Idoma nation if
elected”, he further boasted.
The former president of the
National Association of Nigerian
Students, NANS also paid homage
on the paramount ruler of Idoma
nation, His Royal Highness,
Ogabaidu Elias Ikoyi Obekpa,
Och’ Idoma VI, assuring him that
he will conduct his campaigns in a
peaceful manner.
Responding, the traditional
ruler who stressed the need for
peace in Idoma land, urged the
contesters to uphold this during
and after the re-run election
scheduled for 2016, stressing that
it is God who gives leadership
