Following the sudden collapse of the Secretary to State Government, SSG, Mr. Tergema Takema last Friday, Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has appointed Dr. Bem Meladu as acting SSG.
Takema collapsed last Friday in his house and was rushed to State University Teaching Hospital, Makurdi from where he was later flown to National Hospital, Abuja on Saturday in an air ambulance.
According to the letter conveying the appointment, which was signed by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Terwase Orbunde, the appointment followed the ill health of the substantive Secretary to State Government, Mr. Targema Takema.
A statement signed by the Special Adviser to the governor on Media and ICT, Mr. Tahav Argezua said that the Chief of Staff also conveyed Governor Ortom’s directive deploying Dr. Benjamin Teryima Ashaver, Special Adviser on Revenue and Taxation to cover his colleague at Special Duties office.
Dr. Melladu before the new assignment had been Special Adviser on Economic Investment.
