Newly appointed Principal Special Assistant to Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State on Special Duties, Dr Dickson Akor has promised to commit his salaries to the welfare of party officials in the local government areas.
Dr Akor who made the declaration at a reception organised in his honour by the people of Ogoli, Ugboju in Otukpo local government of the state at the weekend also pledged to effectively use his position to serve the people.
He assured the people of the state that they would soon begin to experience positive changes, adding that the government would clear the backlog of salary arrears owed workers in the next couple of weeks.
The Principal Special Assistant regretted that the present administration inherited over N180bn debt from the previous administration, a development he said has adversely affected the good plans of the Ortom administration.
He, however, disclosed that he would soon, in collaboration with the governor and is deputy convene a post election summit in Benue South Senatorial District, otherwise known as Zone C to attend to issues that needed attention.
Dr Akor also promised to join forces with the governor to address the infrastructural decay in Zone C.
