Vice President of the country, Professor Yemi Osinbajo yesterday urged Governor David Umahi and his entire family to sustain the legacies of their late mother, Deaconess Margaret Umahi.
Osinbajo described the late matriach as a great woman of Christ.
Osinbajo said since she encountered Christ in 1971, she has remained very close to God till her death.
He spoke in Uburu, Ohaozara LGA of Ebonyi state during a thanksgiving church service to appreciate God for the life and time of Deaconess Umahi.
He said having served God and impacted positively on humanity, the late Deaconess Umahi’s soul was already resting in the bosom of the Lord.
He called on Christians to strive at all times to live life worthy of emulation and to always pray for their souls to rest in peace when they died.
The Vice President who lauded Governor Umahi’s performance, prayed God to bless the state.
In his remarks, Governor Umahi described President Muhammadu Buhari and the vice, Prof Osinbajo as detribalized Nigerians who do not discriminate.
He said the two eminent leaders possess similar character of his late mother, who while alive related with all manner of persons that came her way which was why the burial witnessed the presence of many Nigerian leaders both past and present and commended the President and the Vice for the show of love to his family by attending the ceremony.
He reiterated his support to the Buhari administration and called on all Nigerians to rally round the President irrespective of political affiliation for the unity and progress of the nation.
