Ede North Local Government area chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC has vowed to take serious measure on the three leaders who led hundreds of the party members to another party during the last elections.
According to the party, those who were involved in anti-party activities in the last Presidential and National Assembly elections were the former member, House of Representatives, Hon. Adetunji Tajudeen Ajagbe, a former local government party chairman, Alhaji Opadola Surajudeen and a party leader in Ward 1, Oloba Atapara, Alhaji Jimoh Oladeji, adding that a comprehensive list of all their followers who engaged in anti-party activities was already with the party.
In a letter made available to journalists in Osogbo the state capital over the weekend, the party alleged that the three leaders led hundreds of party members to an opposition party during the last elections, adding that even the intervention of some elders could not stop them.
“ A team led by the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Najeem Salaam, had appealed to the aggrieved members on many occasions but to no avail”, the party noted.
The statement added that, “Another team led by the party’s chieftain in the state, Dr Peter Babalola also met the aggrieved members and despite the appeals and several promises made to address their complaints, they insisted on not working for our party again.”
The statement said, in view of the efforts to bring them back without success, the party has no choice than to discipline the erring members.
Efforts by our correspondent to speak with the aggrieved members proved abortive as none of them was around in Ede as at the time of filing this report.
