Osun State sector commander, Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, Mr. Muhammad Hussain has charged motorists to ensure their vehicles were in good condition before embarking on any trip during the ongoing rainy season.
Hussain gave this charge in his office while receiving a Leadership and Excellence Ambassador Certificate and medal award from the Nigeria Peace Magazine, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Hussain emphasised that lack of maintenance contributed to crashes on the roads while admonishing motorists to ensure their vehicles’ tyres, brake pads, brake lights, aerial lights, pointers, wind shield wipers and blades, including the headlights, were in perfect working condition during and after the rainy season.
The Osun FRSC boss admonished further that motorists should always turn on their headlights and wipers and reduce their speed whenever it rained.
Hussain, who dedicated the award to the state, appreciated the management of Nigeria Peace Magazine for presenting the award to him, saying he would continue to double his efforts towards the development of human kind.
In his address, the managing editor of the Nigeria Peace Magazine, Mr. Igbe Benjamin, who presented the award on behalf of the medium, described the Osun sector commander of the FRSC as a committed, dedicated, hard working and amiable officer who had also contributed in no small measure to the upliftment of Osun State based on the questionnaires they had earlier forwarded to some citizens of the state before he was finally qualified for the award.
Benjamin added that in the questionnaire, people showered encomium on Mr. Hussain for his good job in the state which qualified him for the award.
