Workers and retirees in Osun State are now crying aloud over the inability of Governor Rauf Aregbesola’s led government to pay their Salaries and pensions, condemning the Governor totally for his nonchalant altitude to their plight.
According to investigation by Nigerian Pilot, the workers and pensioners were owed between eight to ten months by the All Progressives Congress, APC’s led regime in the state.
The investigation revealed that, many of these serving workers are seriously indebted to their landlords and landladies as well as food vendors across the state while they cannot boast of three square meals in a day.
The situation is so difficult for both the workers and pensioners in the state to the extent that they cannot pay their children’s school fees including money for Aregbesola’s tax payment as their children have been sent out of the school.
Some of the pensioners whom have become aged also lamented what they are passing through from the hand of the state government calling on President Buhari to wade in before the situation gets out of hand stressing that enough is enough for the payment of half pension and salary which has become tradition for Aregbesola’s government.
Indication emerged that a handful of the state retirees have given up the ghost waiting for their meagre emoluments.
However, our Correspondent gathered that the Osun state government resources had been dwindled due to heavy deduction from the state funds allocation by many of its debtors.
It will be recalled that recently, the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, urged federal government to speak up on the financial status of Osun
state and why the state has been getting least allocation in the last six months.
