A member of Lagos State command of Police Community Relations Committee, PCRC, Mr. Bashiru Balogun, has urged Nigerians to cooperate and partner with the Nigerian Police and other security agencies to combat security challenges in the country.
Balogun, who is the chairman of the Committee’s 2015 biennial seminar, stated that such partnership will help to curb security challenges, adding that citizens should freely assist the police with necessary information.
Speaking at this year’s seminar with the theme “Essence of Surveillance in Nigeria Security System”, Balogun said the seminar will expose Nigerians on how to help the police in performing their duties.
Other activities for the seminar, which was slated for the last Thursday of October, included honouring some Nigerians with special award.
The awardees, according to Balogun, are the former Lagos State governor and All Progressive Congress national leader, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, who would be honoured with the Grand Patron and Patron of the Committee respectively.
Others are the Director General of National Arts Theater, Mallam Kabiru Yusuff; the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Bala Hassan and the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Fatai Owoseni.
