Following media report on the invitation of the former Bauchi State governor, Isa Yuguda by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on the controversial aircraft, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state has endorsed the invitation of the anti corruption agency to the governor.
Speaking to newsmen in Bauchi yesterday, the PDP chieftain, Alhaji Abubakar Dogon Yaro Bibi stated that the invitation of the former governor was in order over the alleged missing Bauchi aircraft.
He described Yuguda’s probe by EFCC as a milestone towards the anti-corruption crusade of President Mohammadu Buhari’s administration, which according to him will go a long way in checking corrupt activities among political office holders.
“Yuguda’s invitation by EFCC is in order. I believe the Commission has all the facts before inviting him so it is left for Yuguda to come and explain how he ran his government for the period he was the governor of Bauchi state,” he said.
He commended President Muhammadu Buhari for introducing the crusade against corruption in the country, saying it is a good omen for Nigeria’s economy.
On the allegation that Buhari is being selective in fighting corruption, PDP chieftain stated that Buhari is not the chairman of EFCC but the President of Nigeria so the agency is saddled with the responsibility of fighting corruption in the country.
He called on President Buhari to checkmate activities of governor’s because according to him most of the governor’s are squandering public funds instead of executing projects.
He therefore called on the President to call these governor’s to order if he really wants to fight corruption in the country.
