The acting national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff has been called upon to remain focused in his determination to rebuild the party.
He also urged the national chairman to tell the world how much he inherited in the treasury of the party for transparency and accountability.
Speaking to newsmen in Bauchi yesterday, the state publicity secretary of the PDP, Alhaji Bashir Bukar Rimin Zayam solicited for more support and unity among members of the party to enable the new national chairman of the party to succeed in his effort to rebuild the party.
He said the new Modu Sheriff deserved more support and cooperation rather than being rushed in his wisdom to transform the party.
“If three months are not enough to have a successful ward, state and national congress to elect new leaders he should be allowed to extend some months in order to have a successful convention,” he said.
He advised the national chairman to ensure that there was election to all offices of the party from ward, state to the national level as the best way to promote democracy.
The PDP chieftain called on the national chairman to urge all Abuja based politicians to return to their communities to prepared ground for the party, rather than staying in Abuja creating confusion at their localities.
