Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Delta state has won the Delta North Senatorial seat and Aniocha/Oshimili federal constituency.
Declaring the results at the Oshimili South local government INEC office in Asaba Monday evening, the Returning Officer, Prof. Sunday Akparobi who declared the PDP Senatorial Candidate, Barr. Peter Nwaoboshi winner with 156, 580 votes to defeat his closest opponent from Accord party, Hon. Victor Ochei who pulled 67,580 votes.
Prof. Akparobi stated that Barr. Nwaoboshi having certified the requirement of the law is hereby declared elected.
Also, the Returning Officer for the Aniocha/Oshimili federal constituency, Dr. Christopher Nzelu also declared Hon. Onyemaechi Mrakpor as the winner with 58,330 votes to defeat his closest opponent from Accord party, Mr. Ngozi Okolie who scored 15,238 votes.
In a seperate interview shortly after declaring them winners, the Senator-elect, Barr. Peter Nwaoboshi promised effective representation of his people while Hon. Onyemaechi Mrakpor said that she would make sure she delivers democracy dividends to her constituents.
