Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Plateau State yesterday condemned the twin bomb blasts that killed scores of persons on Sunday night at a Restaurant and Mosque in Jos North local government area of the state.
The party also condoled with the people of the state and family members that are in grief, following the blasts.
Addressing newsmen yesterday at the party secretariat in Jos , acting chairman of the party , Raymond Dabo also lamented the absence of governance on the Plateau since May 29 when the state governor Simon Lalong -led administration took oath of office.
According to him, “Since this administration was sworn in, not one commissioner has been named to oversee any ministries responsible for providing specific needs of the state and it is this absence that has occasioned the blunders already being experienced in the wrongful abrogating of the law by an administration that ought to uphold same and give effect to it.
The party also condemned the recent sack of the elected local government chairmen, stressing: “we now know that the Lalong administration would do beyond breaking the law if the people of Plateau state keep mum.”
The APC government in Plateau has shown that her campaign promises were not true and will steal power from her opponents in a guise to achieve her mischief.
We condemn in totality the disruption of democratic structures at the local government level and demand that due process be followed.”
The PDP also accused the Lalong led administration of duplication and poor prioritisation of government projects as witnessed in the N2.4 billion contract awarded for the renovation of the state Presidential Lodge.
“We condemn this said misapplication of state fund and call on the State House of Assembly to investigate the allegation,” the party stated.
