Former Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Damishi Sango has said that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP would recover what he described as stolen gubernatorial mandate in Plateau State, saying the party’s candidate for the election Senator Gyang Pwajok is a Governor in waiting.
According to him, the outcome of the governorship election in the state is not the will of the people.
He further said he was positive PDP would soon recover its stolen mandate.
The former Minister of Sports stated this in Jos at the weekend while commissioning Senator Pwajok’s constituency projects in 5 local government councils in Plateau North senatorial district of the state.
‪Sango said in Barkin Ladi and Jos South local government councils of the state that the issue of who really won the governorship seat of the state was still hanging in the air in the tribunal as it was not yet over until it is over.‬
‪He noted that the PDP Governorship candidate and the party had petitioned the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal already sitting in Jos over the irregularities that they discovered in that particular election for the tribunal to look into the matter and give justice to it.‬
According to Sango, if the Peoples Democratic Party in the state won the majority seats in the state House of Assembly elections, won all the three senatorial seats and also won 6 out of 8 federal House of Representatives seats , it means Plateau still remains a PDP state to the core and wondered what went wrong with the Governorship election in the state; adding that they were sure PDP did its home work and was expecting victory only for Jos North election result to have been delayed till late into the night on the second day after the polls to turn the table against the Peoples Democratic candidate.
