The People’s Democratic Party,PDP governorship candidate,Engr. Dave Umahi has been declared the winner of the governorship election in Ebonyi state.

Umahi polled 289,867 to record a landslide victory against his closest rival,the Labour Party candidate,Dr. Edward Nkwegu who polled 124817 votes.

The PDP governorship candidate won in all the 13 local government areas of the state.

This was as declared by the state collation Officer,Prof Joseph Ahaneku, the vice chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe university.

Professor Ahaneku thanked Ebonyi people for coming out to exercise their civic duty.

The governorship election was contested by 9 political parties prominent among them are,PDP,LP,APC and APGA
