Former commissioner for works in Plateau state and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic party, PDP in the state, Solomon Zang, has said he is confident the Party would return back to power in 2019.
He also said that for the PDP to wax stronger in the state and come out victorious in 2019 a youthful and acceptable person who would act as a bridge builder needs to be elected as the chairman of the party in the state.
He also said “ Imagine a party that held power for the past 16 years only for it to come and lose elections in a controversial manner all due to some internal wangling’s within the party”.
“Plateau is PDP and would continue to be the traditional home of the party “,
“Our party is widely accepted by the people of plateau as you can see it for yourself as the Party produced three senators, 6 federal legislators and so many House of Assembly members “.
Hon Zang also said recent happenings in the party has given him reasons and course to vie for the position of the chairman as his interest and loyalty to the PDP goes far back during the selection and formation process of the party in the state “.
“l will not want to see a house that we have built to be destroyed and will try all l can to reconstruct and reposition the party to its winning ways, as there are people in the party who left as a result of the primaries. This led the party to loose the governorship seat, l am appealling to them to come back as there is no home that does not have internal problems”.
He also vowed to transform the party if elected as chairman.
Zang also urged the good people of plateau to remain calm and focused.
