In Kaduna State, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has agreed to zone it chairmanship to Southern Kaduna.
The decision was the outcome of the party’s meeting held at Rigachiku in Kaduna yesterday.
As at the time of filing in this report 5 candidates of former Minister of Aviation, Hassan Hyet, Former Commissioner of Information during Mukhtar Ramalan Yero’s administration, Ben Bako, former House of Representatives member, Ado Dogo Audu, former Zonal Chairman of PDP, North-west, Joseph Chaguri and former PPS to late Governor Patrick Yakowa, Yohanna Allah-Magani have shown interest.
It was also gathered that a lot of lobbying is going on for who actually becomes the party Chairman.
However, with the zoning arrangements the Northern zone of the state will eventually produce the Governorship candidate in 2019.
Speaking with the party public relation officer, Ibrahim Masud said the ward congresses were peaceful and calm.
According to him, “the local government Congress is to come up next week, followed by the zonal.”
On the chairmanship, he confirmed that five aspirants have shown interest noting that the era of imposition is over.
