Reports reaching Nigerian Pilot Sports indicates that the embattled Super Eagles Gaffer Sunday Oliseh is already compiling the list of players expected to prosecute 2017 Nations Cup qualifier cracker against Egypt.
The country’s senior National team would continue to keep continental ticket hope alive when they confront their Egyptian counterpart next month in double-header qualifying games.
Nigeria is in Group G of the qualifying series alongside Egypt, Tanzania and Chad and with the Pharaohs leading the group with six points as against four points for the Eagles. Tanzania and Chad are bottom of the table with one and zero point respectively.
Already, Oliseh who has been immersed in several controversies in days past including his open video rant will this week kick-start a tour of various top clubs in Europe where Nigerian players are plying their trade.
Nigeria’s Super Eagles will face Egypt in Kaduna on March 26 in a game Oliseh must win to keep if his team’s expectation to be at next AFCON would be realized. The return leg comes up in Egypt’s capital Cairo in a week’s time.
Nigerians await the list of players that would do battle against Pharoahs, Oliseh has insisted he would delay his choice of players like Chelsea loanee Victor Moses for next month’s all-important AFCON’s double-header against Egypt to be sure they will be available for the matches.
Injury-troubled Victor Moses, who is on loan to West Ham from Chelsea, has not played under Oliseh since he took charge of the Eagles in July 2015, but he is now believed to be in the team’s plans ahead of the qualifiers.
Aside, Moses, the likes of Red hot striker Odion Ighalo of Watford FC, Chelsea’s Mikel Obi, Kelechi Iheanacho are certain to be in Oliseh’s list.
Captain Ahmed Musa of CSKA Moscow and first choice Goal Keeper Carl Ikeme would be available to prosecute the crucial encounter.
