NATIONAL Post graduate Medical College of Nigeria, NPMCN and the West African College of Physicians, WACP has commended the Medical Director of the Federal Medical Centre, FMC, Keffi-Nasarawa state, Dr. Joshua Giyan –Ndom for his transformation programmes at the hospital.
The groups described the medical director as a real health institution transformer considering his people-oriented health policies in the centre.
NPMCN chairman, Dr. Emmanuel Amao gave the commendation yesterday, while speaking at the ongoing 5-day joint updates course/Training of Trainers, TOT, for Residents doctors in Keffi, Keffi local government area of the state. He said that the achievements so far recorded by the Medical director which have impacted positively on the lives of Nigerians had made Dr. Giyan-Ndom a great achiever and also a real transformer of the health institution in the country.
“We are aware of his giant programmes and policies at the centre which have impacted positively on the lives of the people of this area and Nigerians at large. We urge him to sustain the tempo in order to improve on the living and health conditions of Nigerians for the overall development of the country,” he said.
He urged the Resident doctors and trainers to use the knowledge gained in order to improve on the delivery of health services to the citizenry.
The chairman reinstated the commitment of the medical college to continue to train Resident doctors and trainers for effective service delivery.
On his part, chairman of the Family Medicine, WACP, Dr. Sunday Malomo applauded the medical director of the FMC Keffi, for Keying into positive health programmes that have direct bearing on the lives of Nigerians and called for its sustenance.
Responding, the medical director who appreciated the duo for the recognition, assured that the centre would continue to do its best under his leadership to improve on the health and living conditions of Nigerians.
He disclosed that nine projects were commissioned in the centre in 2013and that the centre had commenced residency training in four specialties.
“We have on ground electronic medical records and fees collection, solar power option, electronic health/telemedicine and in all, maintainance of peace against all odds among other achievements”.
