The National Association of Tal Students (NATS) on Saturday donated three sets of computers and accessories as well as exercise books to Government Secondary School, Tal in Pankshin Local Government of Plateau.
Also donated to the school was electricity generating plant to power the computers and illuminate entire school premise.
Making the donation at the premises of the school, Mr Pefwan Francis, President of the Association, said that the gesture was in fulfillment of the association’s desire to promote computer education among the young students.
“As students, we are not ignorant of the importance of computer literacy in lifting the standard of education in Nigerian, more so that the world has become a global village.
“We hope that the items donated would go a long way in serving the purpose for which they were intended, ’’ he said.
Receiving the items, Mr Patrick Gonkol, Principal of the school, thanked the association for the gesture.
Gonkol pledged to put the computers and generator into good use for the benefit of the students, whom he said needed to be computer literate to source for information through internet. (NAN)
