Chairman, Langtang North Local Government Area of Plateau State, Dan Dul has threatened to sack any council staff who discovered to be lazy or impedes growth and development of the council.
Dul, who made the threat yesterday in his first meeting with the council staff in the council secretariat, said that his administration was out to work hard to meet the yearnings of the citizens of the area.
The chairman who was elected under the platform of Democratic Peoples’ Party (DPP), fought his mandate at the Election Tribunal and was only sworn-in to office last two weeks by Governor Simon Lalong.
In his words “Much as I am appealing to all of you to join hands with me in my quest to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of Langtang, I won’t take it light with any lazy staff.
“This administration is out to work and anyone of you who will not catch up with the pace at which we hope to work, that person will be shown the way out, “ the chairman threatened.
Dul disclosed that due to the financial challenges facing the council due to the global economic recession, his administration would explore all areas to boost the revenue profile of the area.
He noted that only when the council staff work as a team, the efforts towards stimulating the desired growth and development would be achieved.
The chairman also cautioned the staff against divulging official secrets to outsiders so as not to put a clog on the wheel of progress of the area.
Dul appealed to all the citizens of the area to cooperate and support his administration which he described as a “child of necessity“ so as to succeed in meeting their yearnings and aspirations.
