The state government in a statement signed by the Secretary to Plateau State Government, Rufus Bature and made available to newsmen in Jos yesterday reads that, “The curfew is from dusk to dawn.”
According to the statement, “The curfew will be indefinite until the security situation and reprisal attacks are effectively checked by security operatives.”
Our correspondent gathered that for the past few years, there have been constant attacks by unknown gunmen on the various communities of Barkin Ladi and Riyom LGCs.
The Chairman of Barkin Ladi local government who doubles as the ALGON Chairman in the state, Mr Emmanuel Lomam also while speaking to newsmen on phone yesterday, said the curfew was the last solution, having received serious security threats about the two LGAs, saying they had to report immediately to the state government to take actions.
