Plateau State citizens have called on President Muhammadu Buhari to take immediate action towards ensuring an end to the several lost of lives in villages of the state, especially Barkin Ladi and Riyom Local Government Councils.
Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, House of Representatives aspirant, Dachung Bagos in a press statement made available yesterday to journalist in Jos, appealed to President Buhari to take an immediate action in respect of ending the unending genocidal attacks which has been threatening the co-existence of citizens in Plateau State and has virtually rendered several villages and settlements extinct.
The statement reads in part: “I’m strongly appealing to President Muhammadu Buhari and drawing his attention to the plight of Plateau State citizens and requesting that immediate action be taken.
“It is unfortunate that up till now we still have issues of killing and attacks in our villages by herdsmen and we have tried everything humanly possible to deal with this situation, to no avail.” They have murdered our wives, children and parents, several generations of families from the children to the grand parents have now been exterminated, yet the killings only seem to escalate as the days go by.”
He also appealed to the president to assist in bringing an end to what he described as injustice meted out to those communities.
“On the average, 10 people are being killed every week in Riyom and Barkin Ladi Local Government Areas; this cannot be acceptable under your watch as President of the Federal Republic. You rode on the mantra of change and we wish to see that change replicated in the affected villages,” he said.
