Labour Party, LP, governorship candidate in Plateau State, Bagudu Hirse, and that of Mega Party, Elizabeth Yirse yesterday both decamped to the All Progressive Congress, APC, calling on people of the state to vote massively for the governorship candidate of the APC, Simon Lalong.
Addressing newsmen at the NUJ press centre, Hirse who spoke on behalf of others said they were both strong advocates of power shifting to the southern zone of the state.
“We are calling on people of the state to come out en-mass to vote massively for the APC in the elections; Plateau cannot afford to be among the opposition states,” he added.
“In view of the recent victory of General Mohammadu Buhari at the presidential elections, it has become necessary for me to rethink my political ambition to govern this state. I have also been a strong advocate of power rotation among the three senatorial zones and therefore, believe that it should be the turn of the southern zone to produce the governor this time around, regardless of the party platform as the end of tyranny and bad governance has come because change is here.”
In a related manner, supporters of aggrieved PDP governorship aspirant in Plateau State, including that of the deputy governor, Ambassador Ignatius Longjan, will decamp to the APC today to coincide with the launching of the Vote All Progressive Candidates Across Plateau State Advocacy Campaign, VAPCAPSAC.
According to a statement issued in Jos and signed by Comrade Saddiq Agamah Sumbelep and made available to newsmen yesterday, the launching is aimed at mobilising voters in Plateau State to vote for the governorship and state house of assembly candidates of the APC in the state in the April 11 elections.
