Plateau North senatorial candidate under the All Progressives Change, APC, Ayisa Eunice Sambo has said she will exhaust all the legal processes to ensure that she gets back her stolen mandate.
Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau State and the PDP Plateau North senatorial candidate has been declared winner of the senatorial election to represent the zone in the National Assembly.
According to Prof. Rotgak Gofwen of the University of Jos,who was the Returning Officer of INEC in the election, the governor scored 234, 455, votes to defeat his closest rival, APC’s Eunice Ayisa Sambo, who polled 221, 274.
She made the disclosure while addressing a press conference in Jos yesterday, alleging massive irregularities associated with validity of the election, explaining that it was against this background that her agent refused to sign the final result which declared governor Jang winner.
In her words, “We are bringing these matters to bear through this press conference to dispel most of the rumours going round about our acceptance of the declaration of Jang as winner by the returning officer, Prof. Rotgak Gofwen.”
She called on her supporters to be calm and law abiding citizens, as the processes have not yet been exhausted, encouraging and strengthening all agents of change that they should not renege in their resolve to protect the people’s mandate.
