FORMER Minister of Sports
and chairman of the Peoples
Democratic Party, PDP, in Plateau
State, Hon. Damishi Sango was
abducted by unknown gunmen
yesterday evening along Abuja-Jos
Family sources told journalists
that the PDP chairman was on
his way to attend the Saturday
National Convention of the party
in Abuja before his kidnap by
unknown gunmen.
It was gathered that the gunmen
suspected to be kidnappers on
Wednesday evening struck on the
Kafanchan-Abuja highway and
abducted the Plateau State PDP
The state publicity secretary
of the PDP, Mr John Akans, who
confirmed the incident to newsmen
in Jos, said former minister left Jos
around 2pm en route Abuja for the
party’s National Convention.
It was also gathered that the
gunmen who forced the victim’s
car to a stop, later abandoned the
jeep on the road and whisked him
and his driver to an unknown
Plateau State Police Public
Relations Officer, Terna Tyopev
confirmed the incident to newsmen
in Jos saying the kidnappers were
yet to reach his family.
