Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Plateau State has described as unfortunate, the effort by the All Progressives Congress, APC to discredit the governorship election in the state that has been described by both local and international observers as free, fair and credible.
In a statement signed by the state Organising Secretary of PDP, Mr. Mike Dashum, the party said, “It is unfortunate that APC has resorted to cheap accusations and blackmail because it has realised that is already based on the reality on ground.
Dashum reinstated that the state has been a stronghold of PDP and that has been seen in all previous elections in the state including the recent presidential and National Assembly elections, adding that no amount of blackmail will turn back the decision of the electorate to vote out APC from the state.
Calling on the party supporters, who are already agitated over the APC’s claim to remain calm, Dashum urged INEC to shun every attempt by APC to cause a set back on the credible process it has worked hard to achieve.
The APC gubernatorial and senatorial aspirants, Simon Lalong and Eunice Sambo respectively had accused the PDP of rigging elections in some areas of the state.
