Security has been beefed up ahead the sallah festival, as different security operatives in Plateau State have said they are fully on ground to guarantee a hitch-free Eid -el Kabir celebration.
The Police command in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer, PPRO, ASP Tyopev Terna, and made available to newsmen said the ban on the use and sales of fire works such as knock out , banger and other explosives are still in force and the violators will be made to face the wrath of the law.
“Vehicles and tricycles must be packed 200 meters away from the worship centres praying grounds”.
“Worshippers going to the prayer grounds must subject themselves to thorough search by security agencies and the use of motorcycles to worship centres is prohibited, throwing and carrying knives, cutlasses, sticks and other dangerous weapon to worship centres, praying grounds is not allowed, and the use of abusive language .”

Similarly, the commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps NSDC, Plateau State command, Mr. Olasupo Adebayo, also in a statement signed by Naomi Cishak ,the Public Relations Officer of the command, said the corps has deployed over 2,000 officers and men for the sallah celebrations.
He assured the general public that the corps and other security agencies have put in place all necessary strategies to ensure a peaceful celebration.
