Plateau State governor Simon Lalong has assured sportsmen in the state that the government would do all within its power to encourage them and ensure that the state regains its lost glory.
The governor who was at the Rwang Pam Stadium to watch the match between the Plateau United and visiting Kogi United in which the state team won with a lone goal, told journalists after the match that as a former football player and lover of sport, he would give the sector every encouragement it deserves to put the state in the right pedestrian.
The governor who would not disclosed the gift to be given to the team for its promotion to the Premier League with the Saturday win, said he would disclose his full package for sport in his hundred days in office.
The lone goal in the match was scored by John Kim of the Plateau United less than two minutes into the match.
Though there were several scoring chances both in the first and second halves of the match but were not converted to goals.
