In its concerted effort to rid the state of crimes and criminal activities, Zamfara State Police Command has arrested 7 suspected kidnappers within two weeks in different criminal hideouts across the state.
The state commissioner of Police, Mr. Olufemi David stated this yesterday through his police public relations officer, Dsp. Sanusi Amiru while parading two suspected kidnappers at the state command headquarters Gusau.
The commissioner stated that, on September 29, two suspected Kidnappers, Ali Ali and Chuma Buba were apprehended by the police in Bukkuyum local government area after kidnapping one Alh. Wato Kyaram and demanded ransom of N500, 000.
He said, the exhibit recovered from the two suspects include, one cutlass and one life ammunition of AK47 rifle respectively.
The police image maker said, on September 30, four suspected Kidnappers Lawali Ibrahim, Ibrahim Mai-aiki, Lawali Abubakar and Isiyaku Muh’d Kaya were arrested at Moriki, following a tip off to the police while taking their victim, one Haladu Kaikai to an undisclosed location.
Mr. Olufemi further revealed that, one notorious criminal popularly known as Usman Umar Gusau has been arrested in connection with armed robbery. He stabbed one Mubarak Sama’ila of Gusau with cutlass and robbed him of his hand set.
He pledged that his command effort to averting crime to the lowest minimum will be sustained, while soliciting the support of the general public to give the police positive information on confidentiality about strange visitors and movements within their respective areas.
