Policemen from the Zone 12 Command of the Nigeria Police Force have arrested one of the wanted leaders of the Boko Haram group, Muhammed Usman, who was a few days ago, declared wanted by the Nigerian Army.
The arrest of the suspect was as a result of the investigative and surveillance, supervised by the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of zone 12, comprising Bauchi, Borno and Yobe State, Assistant Inspector General of Police Tunde Ogunsakin.
The suspect was arrested by police detectives , attached to Borno State Police Command , who were on intensive cordon and search operation for members and leaders of the terror group in all parts of Maiduguri .
The arrested Boko Haram suspect has been handed over to the headquarters of 7 Division of the Nigerian Army for further investigation while efforts are being intensified to track down and apprehend other suspects still at large.
However, it is pertinent to emphasise here that the breakthrough in the arrest of the suspect was as a result of the supports of the well-meaning members of the public, who as partners in progress with the Nigeria Police Force share our desires and aspirations to enable a safe and secure environment for all citizens.
The AIG therefore urged members of the public not to relent in providing useful information that will assist the police in protecting lives and properties in the zone and the Nation at large.
