KATSINA State Commissioner
of Police, Umar Abdullahi has
disclosed that the command had
arrested 418 suspects while property
worth N7.3 million were recovered
from the suspects.
CP Abdullahi also said police in
collaboration with other security
agents had successfully addressed
problem of cattle rustling and
recovered 300 weapons from
rustlers.
He stated this when he was
briefing the Deputy Inspector-
General of Police in charge of
Logistics and Supply, Maigari Albati
Dikko, who was in Katsina on an
official visit to the command.
The CP added that the command
had recently arrested a syndicate of
human traffickers and its agents, as
well as a syndicate of drug traffickers
with 488 rolls of Tramadol, even as
he appealed for redeployment of
additional police officers to the state
to fill the gap of 3,030 shortfalls of
personnel.
Abdullahi further appealed for
the establishment of two additional
area commands for Dutsinma and
Malumfashi areas.
Meanwhile, DIG Dikko has
advised senators to seek dialogue
with their constituents toward
addressing current political
misunderstandings in the country.
Dikko said the current political
misunderstanding between senators
and their constituents could
overheat the polity and lead to
breakdown of law and order if not
tackled with dialogue.
He reaffirmed commitment of
the Nigeria Police to continue
to protect lives and properties
during any political gathering,
even as he called on politicians to
desist from unnecessarily creating
tension between them and their
constituents.
