Kwara State Police
Command has paraded
16 suspected armed
robbers and cultists at the
command’s headquarters
and reiterated its
commitments to phase out
crimes and criminality from
the state.
The Commissioner of
Police in the State, CP Sam
Okaula, who paraded the
suspects in Ilorin the state
capital, said perpetrators of
dastard acts should relocate
to other areas immediately
or face the full wrath of the
law.
He gave the names of some
of the suspects as Oguniyi
Ayoola, Adebisi Adedokun,
Kadiri Abubakar, Ifesuo
Chukwu, Dauda Muritala,
Taiwo Mohammed Azeez
Adelodun, Ibrahim
Nurudeen, Abubakar
Gafar, Ismaila Nurudeen,
Habeeb Adams, Ganiyu
Taiwo , Bushura Ibrahim,
Jidde Kolawole, Suleman
Quadri and Rasheed
Idiagbon were arrested by
the police from different
offenses such as attempted
kidnap, house breaking and
theft, armed robbery, secret
cult membership among
others.
“One Opekun David
Kolawole, Principal of
ECWA Secondary School
Igbaja, brought a complaint
of criminal intimation and
attempted kidnap against
one Oguniyi Ayoola with
different phone numbers
who threatened to kill
him if he refuses to pay a
ransom of N 2million to one
UBA Account.
“His failure to comply
made the suspect to direct
the victim to take the said
amount to a bush path
in Oro. On the receipt of
the information, security
cordon was spread around
the location the suspect
was waiting to collect the
ransom where he was
arrested, he confessed to
the crime. He will soon
appear in court.”
Further, Okaula said, “At
about 1000hrs, one Soji
Odetunde of Adewole Area
reported at D’ Division that
he discovered that money
has been missing in his
wardrobe at home without
any breakage. He suspected
his Cousin one Adebisi
Adedokun living with him
who ran to Lagos.
The suspect was arrested,
while on interrogation,
he confessed to have
duplicated the keys to the
wardrobe and has stolen
money at different times
totalling N6million. The
fabricator of the keys is also
undergoing interrogation.
The Police Commissioner
however, disclosed that
about 118 suspected cultists
have been declared wanted
in the state and urged
members of the public to
assist the command with
useful information that can
lead to their arrest
