Police to revisit ban on motorcycles in Enugu

Enugu state command of the Nigeria Police Force has
reminded residents of Enugu metropolis that the blanket
ban on motorcycles is still in effect.
A release from the police indicates that police will
enforce the ban and warned those flouting the law to
desist forthwith.
"The Nigeria Police, Enugu State Command wishes to
inform members of the public that the ban on the use of
motorcycles within Enugu Metropolis is still on and they
are further reminded to continue to be law abiding.
"The commissioner of police Sulaiman Balarabe has
directed security operatives to fish out those in the
violation of the ban and impound their motorcycles and
ensure diligent prosecutions of persons involved," the
release signed by the police spokesman, Ebere
Amaraizu stated.
In a related development, the command is also
reminding members of the public that the clampdown by
operatives on vehicles with tinted glasses without permit
and those covering their vehicle plate numbers as well
as the use of siren without authorisation is still in
progress.

Amaraizu also indicated that; "the commissioner of
police, Suleiman Balarabe has directed security
operatives for diligent prosecutions of offenders."
