The Nacabs Polytechnic in Nasarawa State, has cancelled the award of pass National Diploma (ND) certificate to its graduates, the proprietor of the institution, Mr David Abuluya has said.

Abuluya who spoke in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Akwanga, Nasarawa State, said the policy takes effect from the 2014/2015 academic session.

He said that the decision was taken in order to improve academic standard and the standard of education generally.

“This decision will not only improve on the standard of education but will also make students to brace up and face their studies squarely.

“It will also make the members of the public have confidence in the institution for the overall development of the country,” Abuluya said.

Abuluya also warned the students of the institution against engaging in cult activities, examination malpractice and others social vices.

According to him, “cultism, examination malpractice and other social vices had affected our lives, the education sector and the socio-economic development of the country negatively.’’
