Nigeria youngster Kelechi Iheanacho continued his impressive run with Manchester City Tuesday in Australia when he scored and provided an assist as the EPL side defeated Roma 5-4 on penalties after the game ended 2-2 in regulation time.
The 2013 FIFA U17 World Cup MVP, who was declared, fit for this game after a slight hamstring complaint, scored to give coach Manuel Pellegrini’s side a 2-1 lead in the 52nd minute after he had assisted Raheem Sterling the opener juts three minutes into his debut.
Iheanacho finished superbly after he cashed in on a defensive error by the Italian club, but Adem Ljajic’s free kick four minutes from time sent the game into penalties.
City are due to take on Real Madrid on Friday in continuation of the pre-season buildup.
