A woman with six months old pregnancy whose name was given as Mrs. Ikhuoria has been allegedly stabbed to death by her neighbour over her bid to retrieve a N1,000 loan.
The deceased was said to have gone to demand from her neighbour identified as Mama Emmanuel to pay back the N1000 loan when the incident occured.
Owner of the house located at Iyamu street off Textile Mill road in Benin City where the incident occurred, Mrs. M Okpojie, said she was working at the back of the house when she heard shouting.
She said she found the deceased bleeding and rushed her to a private hospital where doctors referred her to another hospital.
“I was working at the back of the house when I heard shoutings. I had to rush her to a private hospital when I saw the way she was bleeding. Doctor said it was an internal bleeding and I should take her away so I called the husband to come.”
Husband of the victim, Ediale Ikhuoria, narrated what happened, “My wife borrowed her N1000 and when she demanded for the money, Mama Emma stabbed her. She killed my wife. My wife was six months pregnant. She died on Monday morning.”
Police spokesman, DSP, Osifo Abiodun, however, said he was yet to be briefed on the incident.
