DOM Communications Limited, publishers of Nigerian Pilot Newspapers and Newsworld Magazine, yesterday rewarded vendors who met the company’s target in the vendors promo.
Presenting gift items to the winners, Executive Editor, Nigerian Pilot/Nigerian Newsworld, Dr. Obinna Nwachukwu stated that the aim of the promo was to ginger and encourage the newspaper’s vendors who have done well in displaying and selling the newspaper at their various newsstands.
He added that the reward was for the month of October, saying the promo would continue till the end of the year.
“We know that God has been helping us; so we decided that every month we will appreciate you people. What we are doing here today is for the month of October; at the end of this month we will give more gifts.
“So those who are winning today are those who soar for the month of October and I am promising you that what we will bring at the end of November will be bigger than what we have here today,” he said.
He congratulated the winners and charged them to do more, as he urged those who did not win to improve in selling the copies of the paper so that they would make it next month.
“So if you win today it’s an encouragement but if you did not win, please don’t feel bad. We are doing this to ginger and encourage you people. We believe that without vendors we cannot move; so we need you and you need us; it’s a partnership.”
Some of the vendors who spoke to Nigerian Pilot at the event said this singular act would help to improve their morale, adding that it was a challenge to other media houses as well as vendors.
According to the first winner who went home with a Samsung smart television, Mr. David Yibala, “I see this as an encouragement; I feel very happy and I thank Nigerian Pilot.”
Another winner, Mr. Tolukpe Adelaja appreciated DOM Communications for the reward and charged other media organisations to learn from the gesture.
The gifts presented to the eight winners included five generators, two table refrigerators and a star prize of 24 inches LED Samsung flat television.
