EZEQUIEL LAVEZZI is free to leave Paris Saint-Germain, club president Nasser al-Khelaifi has revealed.
Inter are believed to have stolen a lead over the Gunners to sign the forward, although no deal has yet been agreed.
And, with his contract set to expire next summer, al-Khelaifi confirmed PSG are open to offloading the Argentine.
“He’s got one year left on his contract,” al-Khelaifi said.
“If clubs are interested, we’ll discuss with them.
“It will also be up to him, because we don’t want to block him after all he’s done for the club.”
Arsenal are understood to have considered a bid for Lavezzi earlier in the transfer window.
Manager Arsene Wenger remains keen on landing new recruits before Tuesday’s deadline but insists the Gunners are not close to securing a transfer.
Asked yesterday if he would be making moves late in the window, Wenger said: “At the moment, I cannot say I am very confident because we are not close to signing anybody.
“I don’t know because I am always confident that a last-minute situation or solution is available, because the transfer market is especially moving in the last four or five days.
“At the moment, I cannot promise you that. We work very hard… you know I have a team around me who work day and night to find good solutions.”
