Business and Economy PTAD commends Nigerian Defence Academy Published 4 weeks ago on April 15, 2019 By Obisue Emmanuel Share Tweet Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate, PTAD has commended the Nigerian Defence Academy, NDA, for investing in the capacity development of its officer cadets. Executive Secretary of the Directorate, Sharon Ikeazor gave this commendation when she received 300 level officer cadets of the department of accounting and management in the NDA, who were on an educational tour to understudy PTAD’s administrative and accounting processes. While interacting with the officer cadets, she explained that one of the mandates of the Directorate is to ensure payments of pensioners that retired on or before June 30, 2007 under the Defined Benefit Scheme, DBS, including payment of Next of Kins, NoKs of deceased pensioners who died on or before the commencement of the Contributory Pension Scheme. The Pension Support Services Department led by its Director, further breifed the officer cadets on the functions of its department which includes the contact and call centers. The officer cadets also visited the Customs, Immigrations & Prisons Pension Department for practical demonstration of computation and payment processes. Earlier, the NDA team led by Dr. Ahmed Yahaya while thanking the PTAD boss for collaborating with the NDA to develop the officer cadets’ knowledge and understanding of pension administration requested a partnership with the Directorate to conduct a survey of pensioners’ perception of pension management and administration in Nigeria.
