Principal and Chief Executive of Petroleum Training Institute PTI, Professor Sunny Iyuke has said that the proposed N120 billion Digital Petroleum Training Institute, DiPTI, project is initiated to boost productivity, create digital innovations and jobs for more youths.

Iyuke, who disclosed this at the 2016 Graduation ceremony, held recently at the Institute, said the DiPTI when completed will be the first of its kind in the entire sub-Saharan Africa.

He assured that the management of PTI will its efforts to develop the Institute as a centre of excellence, and encouraged the graduating students to see themselves as Ambassadors to the greatness of the Institute.

The PTI boss further commended the Petroleum Technology Development Fund PTDF, Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, Society of Petroleum Engineers, and Cyber Space limited for their immense contributions including donation of equipment toward the development of the Institute.

Meanwhile, the Federal Government has appointed Abubakar S.K. Tanimu as Registrar of Petroleum Training Institute PTI. The four years. appointment took effect from October 13th, 2016.

In a statement, PTI Assistant Director/Head, Public Affairs, Mr. Brown A. Ukanefimoni, said Taminu, until his new appointment was a Deputy Director, Human Resources Department, PTI.
