Real Madrid are ready to pounce for Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero.

The Spanish giants are long-term admirers of the Argentina superstar and believe the time could be right this summer with Aguero appearing to have lost his status as an automatic starter at City.

Aguero is 28 and unlikely to be happy if he plays fewer games and is now facing new competition from City’s £26m Brazilian star Gabriel Jesus.

And boss Pep Guardiola’s demands for a high-pressing style from his strikers does not come easy to Aguero.

Guardiola insists that Aguero is not for sale but Real Madrid are likely to test City’s resolve as they could offload both Karim Benzema and Alvaro Morata this summer.

His former club Atletico Madrid could also be interested but Real tried to sign him before he went to City and have been keen ever since.

Juventus and Paris Saint Germain could also be interested as the summer threatens to be a merry-go-round of strikers.
