Labour Party, LP candidate for Ughelli North/Ughelli South and Udu federal constituency in the 2015 general election, Mr. Julius Akpovoka, has cried out to the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Solomon Arase to investigate an alleged threat to his life by a serving member of Representatives in the state, Hon. Solomon Awhinawhi.
Akpovoka while addressing newsmen yesterday at Ughelli recounted a verbal confrontation with the House member at a reconciliatory meeting at the Warri residence of a politician in the state.
He said, “I have reported the matter to the Police and they have written back to me adding that they would investigate the allegation”.

Meanwhile, taking a swipe at Akpovoka, over the allegations, Hon Awhinawhin described the allegations as false and malicious saying: “Would my so-called threat to Akpovoka upturn the election result? He took me to court saying he won the election and the case is before the court.
“As for the petition to the IG, let the Police invite me as I am yet to be invited. If they do, I would gladly go there, but in the mean time, Akpovoka should also be prepared to tender an evidence of my threat to his life.”
