Council of State meeting which held at the Presidential Villa yesterday forced the House of Representatives to suddenly adjourn sitting in order to allow the Speaker, Hon. Yakubu Dogara to attend the crucial meeting.‬
The adjournment was further necessitated due to the absence of the Deputy Speaker of the House, Hon. Yusuf Sulaimon Lasun, who is currently leading a Nigerian delegation to the meeting of the International Parliamentary Union, IPU in Geneva, Switzerland.‬
Meanwhile, when the House resumes today, six bills will be presented for first reading.
They include: the Nigerian Ports and Harbour Authority Bill 2015; Public Officers Protection Act (Amendment) Bill 2015; National Agency for Training and Regulation of Vocational Trades (Establishment) 2015.‬
‪Other bills to be presented on the floor today are: the National Youth Service Corps Act (Amendment) Bill 2015; National Council for Elderly Persons (Establishment) Bill 2015; and Gender and Equal Opportunities Bill 2015.
