Ahead of the March 19, 2016, re-run state and National Assembly elections in Rivers State, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state has called on Rivers people to reject all the candidates of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the coming polls.
The state party chairman, Felix Obuah stated this yesterday in Port Harcourt, the state capital, in a statement signed by his special adviser on Media, Jerry Needam.
Obuah emphasised that the Supreme Court judgment which upheld Governor Nysom Wike’s election had engendered peace and tranquility in the state, noting that the only way to sustain the peace was to reject the APC and all its antics.
The PDP chairman also warned the people to be wary of the APC candidates and leaders, whom he maintained were aiming to grab the common wealth of Rivers State and destabilise the state.
Also, the PDP chairman reiterated that all those who claimed to have left the party for other political parties were not members of the party, as there was no record of their membership of the PDP in the state.
Obuah thanked all Rivers people for their sustained support and acceptance, and further appealed to them to continue to vote for all PDP candidates during the elections for the party to deliver on its electioneering promises.
