General Manager, Kaduna State Traffic And Environmental Law Enforcement Agency, KASTELEA, Col. Abdullahi Zubairu Ahmed yesterday vowed that violators of road traffic regulations in the state must be made to pay fines.
Ahmed made this known to newsmen in Kachia while supervising the training of the newly recruited staff into the agency in the state.
He said so far the agency has offered 2,550 employment opportunities to people of the state.
He continued when he said that the agency was created to bring sanity among road users in the state.
According to him, “the agency is empowered by law to control and regulate traffic around Kaduna metropolis as well as any other city within Kaduna State.
“This is the first kind of employment of about 2,550 people that was conducted without any rancour. By the time we are done with the training of the new recruited personnel, we will bring about a better condition of living in the state.
“our job is to ensure sanity and to reduce number of deaths in our roads.
“The agency would also help in generating revenue for the state because whoever is caught violating traffic regulation would be made to pay a token to the state. But our major aim is to ensure sanity in the state,” he said.
Also speaking to Journalists, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the KASTELEA, Col. Moses Zamani commended governor El-Rufai for keeping faith with his campaign promises.
He said, “people drive without law and without order in Kaduna State, so the major aim is to ensure we sanitise road users and bring about discipline to Motorists.”
He said, once the agency kicks off proper, all people selling and buying at the roadside would be clear to allow motorists use the road.
