“They have not [submitted a request]. In fact, there is not such a thing in Spain. You should have a think where the stories about players misbehaving or asking to be let go come from.

“There is a clear interest in blaming players for everything that is happening at Real Madrid. And that is part of a plan by the club to try a bit of a clear-out. Ramos will not leave now, and Cristiano cannot be sold as it stands because nobody can pay what the transfer fee and wages would cost.”
